Fighting Resentment

What are you struggling with today? Is there something right now that you fight to control in your mind? Some part of the story that creates that little point of resentment in your heart?

Resentment is so sneaky sometimes. It starts off as a slight pain and turns into anger before you know it. Pride swells. With time, and lack of confession, this thing can grow into a much larger issue. Even the most forgiving of spouses can fall prey to resentment. A marriage can suffer greatly from it.

No longer are you excited about the blessings of God’s restoration. You can’t enjoy the beauty of rebuilding your relationship. You are dissatisfied with marriage and family altogether. You feel stagnant in your home life and walk with Lord.

Resentful. Synical. Been there?

Confess that feeling today. Allow God to turn that resentment into a right spirit again. Let go of your pride, and embrace what the Lord has given you in a restored marriage. An amazing second chance to bring Him glory and honor in your home, and another opportunity to grow and mature spiritually.
